Football Logo Samples

Pro football logos are somewhat like baseball logos - the older teams seem to have more conservative logos than the newer ones. Here conservative means simple, with few elements in the logo. Football also seems to be optional as a logo element, in fact it is hard to think of teams whose logos contain footballs. Their logos seem rather to concentrate on merely expressing some characteristic of their name, not that they play football. An arrowhead as a logo, along with the Chiefs name, carries the idea of authority and power. No squaws or papooses on this football team, and the logo conveys that idea.

Want to convey a team attitude on your football logo? If you want to known as nasty and deadly, the skull and crossed swords is a good way to do it and an effective team logo. A sword holding the flag also furthers the message of the logo. Again, no football is shown or mentioned, but then you either know football or your don't. If you do, you know the Bucs play football, and recognize the logo anywhere.

Except for the pro football team that has no logo on its helmet (know who it is?), this may be the simplest, and also the best known logo in football. It goes to show that the complexity of the logo doesn't make it popular or successful, it has more to do with who is in the helmet. However, simple elements of a logo, football or otherwise, can relate to many things. In this case, the star could represent the Lone Star State, or the fact that a lot of stars played for this football team. Or the star logo could simply be something to make logo-watchers ask questions. If you are making your own logo for your flag football team, decide what makes your group unique and put that on your logo.

Here is a football logo of a different type. It takes the prestige of the entire football league and makes it the subject of the logo. And at least this logo has a football on it, so we know it's not the National Forensics League. The shield lends an aura of authority and the stars, well, they may the ones who didn't make in on the Cowboys roster. Anyway, this logo is a simple combination of graphics and words, letting you know football is the topic, even if you aren't sure what pro set means in this logo context.
